Hollow CuFe2O4/MgFe2O4 Heterojunction Boost Photocatalytic Oxidation Activity for Organic Pollutants

P-n heterojunction-structured CuFe2O4/MgFe2O4 hollow spheres with a diameter of 250 nm were synthesized using template-free solvothermal method, and time-dependent morphological studies carried out to investigate the formation mechanism. The molar ratio 1:2 (Cu:Mg) had highest degradation efficiency model organic dye Acid Orange 7, rate 91.96% over 60 min. nanocomposites characterized by XRD, TEM, HRTEM, UV-vis spectroscopy, Mott–Schottky, EIS. Due synthesis p-n heterojunction, has efficient photogenerated carriers, structure higher specific surface area stronger adsorption capacity, which is significantly better than that CuFe2O4 MgFe2O4 in terms photocatalytic performance. outstanding performance shows heterostructure potential for application wastewater degradation.
